First-time players are encouraged to make a human at level 1 in order to grow familiar with the system and its mechanics.
Character creation begins with an idea—the most basic sense of what the player wants. These ideas can be as simple as a scene one would like to play or an image. The focus should be something the player believes will be fun.
A helpful idea may be to write a brief description of the character's goals, defining traits, and motivations. This is also a good time to explore a possible backstory. An example might be as follows:
This character's motivation stems from wanting to feel secure. Their goal is to make a living in the dungeon and retire wealthy enough not to need to work ever again. They love slimes and think they're very cute.
Although short, this example gives insight into possible personality traits and titles.
Find the character sheet below and copy it into your favorite text editor. Following your idea, fill it out as much as possible, and then approach your DM with any questions and uncertainties. The linked guides for stats, skills, spells, and titles should be useful and have examples included.
Send your character sheet to your DM for approval. Because Rummy Cobbles is a rules-light system, it allows great creativity. By working with the DM to refine the character sheet, the DM can more easily implement the character's details into play. This step requires working closely with the DM. Once approved, your character is ready!
At long last, it's time to insert your character into the world of Monster Farm! Work with your DM and get ready to play!
The table below has the most important fields for character creation. Additional information can be added, and characters can have more than two personality, trait, skill, magic, and title entries.
